Who is he?

A blistering breeze-up purchase by Acclamation heading to one of Ireland’s best breeze up purchase trainers, Ado McGuinness. We bought four breezers last year, three won - this is our very first breeze-up purchase of 2024. Ado achieved a massive six figure return for our owners with our breezer last year so we had to return this year. We think he’s the perfect horse to do the job again, give huge fun and possibly a lovely return.

Why him?

We pride ourselves at finding the best value at breeze up auctions. Just read about our track record to see how we’ve done it time and time again. This guy fit exactly that profile of a horse our shrewd owners would love.

We work closely with breeze-up vendors to find value and have built up great partnerships with consigners we trust. We’ve bought two horses from this seller Donavon Bloodstock - the first we sold for €300,000 after buying for £25,000, the second has won her last three starts in a row this season.

His breeze was only adequate. If you are here to buy the obvious horse you can look away now. However, I was able to watch this horse gallop a few weeks before and he won his piece of work easily (watch that video in my YouTube video below). As you can see in his breeze, he turns his head to to look for a rival to race against. Our colt loves gets his head down and compete against his friends but because the breeze was on his own - he felt a bit lost. What is exciting is a horse race by defintion is against other horses - I’m confident he’ll be a totally different racehorse on the track - Donovan Bloodstock are too, they retained 25% to share the upside with us.

He vetted great with perfect x-rays and throat. His mother has had two runners, both have won - we can’t wait to see what this colt might achieve for us.

What is the cost?

Each 1% equity share costs €750 and that’s all inclusive of costs (purchase price, syndicate commission, training fees, vets, farrier, our team to look after you and everything else in between) until the start of 2025.

Where next?

We won’t be waiting long for action. We think he will be ready to run in four weeks or so. He’s getting two weeks of cantering after the sale to unwind and then he will be straight back into first work. He should be ready for one of the first six furlong maidens of the year.

Our goal will be to have as much fun as possible with him with one eye of achieving the best possible resale return. Our experience tells us that if this colt clicks like we think he could it opens up a world of opportunity for resale - Acclamation is one of the most coveted stallions in Hong Kong because of their brilliant Acclamation son Romantic Warrior (also bred in Ireland).
